|| Subject: History and Humanities

|| Description: Portraits can take many forms (see prerequisites). Students start by drawing their subject’s face on a small paper, and finish the drawing with watercolors.

|| Prerequisite: Students should choose or be assigned a subject.

|| Variations:

  • Classmate Portraits – students draw a portrait of a fellow classmate.
  • Biography Portraits – Students draw a portrait of a figure that they admire, whether a relative or historical figure.
  • Miniature Portraits – A fun project for the whole school, every student (and teacher/staff member!) makes a miniature portrait that becomes part of a larger mural. (Pictures above)
